Dive Location Options

San Diego – Yukon Shipwreck

One of the most iconic wreck dives in Southern California, the Yukon is a 366-foot Canadian destroyer intentionally sunk as part of an artificial reef project. Resting on its side at approximately 100 feet, the Yukon offers large-scale wreck navigation and penetration opportunities for experienced divers.

  • Depth: 60–100 ft

  • Penetration: Extensive

  • Best for: Divers looking to refine wreck penetration and advanced navigation skills

  • Additional Gear: Dive light, reel/spool, cutting tool

Catalina Island – Casino Point

Casino Point offers a calmer environment with smaller wreck remnants integrated into lush kelp forests. This site is ideal for divers new to wreck exploration or those seeking a more relaxed introduction to wreck techniques.

  • Depth: 30–60 ft

  • Penetration: Minimal

  • Best for: Introductory wreck diving and navigation practice

  • Additional Gear: Standard scuba equipment

Offshore Oil Rigs (By Demand)

Select wreck specialty dives may be conducted at Southern California oil rigs, which function as massive artificial reefs and complex structures. These dives focus on external wreck navigation, buoyancy control, and environmental awareness rather than penetration.

  • Depth: Varies by rig

  • Penetration: No penetration

  • Best for: Confident divers interested in large-scale structures and marine life

  • Scheduling: By demand, conditions permitting

  • Additional Gear: Dive light recommended

Oil rig dives are scheduled intentionally and may take place on smaller boats with an instructor.
