Dive Locations:

San Diego's Yukon Shipwreck One of the largest and most exciting wrecks in Southern California, the Yukon is a 366-foot Canadian destroyer that was deliberately sunk as part of the artificial reef project. It now rests on its side at 100 feet below the surface. With plenty of penetration opportunities, the Yukon offers experienced divers a chance to explore compartments, hallways, and deep holds. The structure is teeming with marine life and provides a thrilling dive with excellent photo opportunities.

Casino Point (Catalina Island) For those seeking a more laid-back wreck diving experience, Casino Point offers minimal yet fascinating wreck structures in a calmer environment. Divers can explore smaller boat remnants while enjoying the lush kelp forests and diverse marine life that Casino Point is known for. This is a great introduction for wreck enthusiasts looking to ease into this specialty without the challenges of deep wrecks.

Perfect for: Divers new to wreck exploration or those seeking a relaxed wreck dive in a scenic environment.

Course Structure

Duration: 4 days (2 weekends)

  1. Knowledge Development: Understand basic scuba principles through PADI videos and classroom sessions.

  3. Open Water Dives: Apply your skills in the ocean on Sunday's Diving Trips.

Course Overview

This course can be taken after completing the PADI Open Water Diver certification. It's titled PADI Advanced Open Water Diver because it advances your diving knowledge & skills.

Why Take This Course?

  • Build confidence and expand your scuba skills.
  • Experience different specialties under the supervision of a PADI Instructor.
  • Log dives and develop new capabilities.
  • Gain credit towards PADI Specialty Diver Courses.

Course Structure

  • Prerequisites: PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver, at least 12 years old.
  • Certification Requirements: Complete 5 Specialty Dives within two ocean trips (boat fee not included).

Academic Plan

  • Required Dives: Deep Dive, Underwater Navigation and Peak Performance Buoyancy
  • Elective Dives: Choose two from a variety of Adventure Dives like photography, buoyancy control, fish identification, and exploring wrecks.

  • Advanced Manual: $77.58

Fees and Additional Costs

  • Base Fee: $350 (excluding course materials)
  • Boat Trips: 2 trips, each costing $200

Equipment Needed

Beyond basic scuba equipment, you’ll need a compass and dive knife. Specialized gear depends on chosen Adventure Dives. Your instructor will guide you on additional gear like a lift bag for Search and Recovery diving.

Invest in your own BCD and Regulator, and we will waive the $350 base fee for the Advanced Course. Practice with your own gear during all 6 ocean dives with your instructor.

The REFRESHER course will be conducted on saturdays in the pool only. This price does not include rental gear,  pool entry fee or ocean trip. 

The refresher course is WAIVED with a purchase of the ADVANCED Course. This might be a really good way to move forward as we will be put you with an instructor for 6 dives in the ocean. You can get comfortable again diving, all while learning how to navigate, perfect your buoyancy and deep dive. The Advanced course will be two Sunday boat trips, 6 dives total, and give you the license to dive up to 130ft. 

This course does not include rental gear. Rental Gear is $95 MAX (we recommend you purchase your own personal gear: mask, snorkel, fins, boots and gloves 15% off in shop- unlocks FREE RENTAL for wetsuit, BCD, Regulator, Weights and Tank)

Refresh Diving Course FAQ

Q. What do I do after purchasing Refresh Diving Course? 

Please head to the dive calendar to reserve your spot for the pool. This will let us know when you will be joining!  

Q. It has been a while since I had my last dive as a certified SCUBA diver. I am worried if I will be able to dive well again.

Then the refresher course was made for you! Your instructor will brief you about the key skills of scuba and then train you again in our deep pool. This will allow you to get comfortable again before heading to an ocean trip. If you are still worried about the ocean then the Advanced Course may be the best step forward for you as you will be able to dive with your instructor in the ocean, clearing out any kinks and learning some more along the way.
